pRIVACY pOLICY
Engineering Students’ Society respects your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy is intended to help users of the Engineering Students’ Society Service (“you”) understand the information Engineering Students’ Society (“we”) collects and how we use such information. The Engineering Students’ Society Service (“the Service”) encompasses the breadth of all Engineering Students’ Society technology and services, including but not limited to ticket and product sales, event registration, access control, and client and customer service. By using the Engineering Students’ Society Service, you are consenting to the use of your information as set forth in this policy. What information do we collect? As part of the process of registering for an event or purchasing, ticket buyers, or attendees, must agree to volunteer some information about themselves. This information may include name, email address, UCID, phone number, as well as other information required to complete the registration process. In addition to this personal information, Engineering Students’ Society collects non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to IP addresses, approximate geographic regions, browsers, operating systems, and other device characteristics. How do we use this information? First and foremost, information is collected to help us deliver the highest level of service to our users. Here are some of the specific ways in which we accomplish that: Use for Specific Purpose: Information provided for a specific purpose will be used for that purpose. Most commonly, this applies to information provided during the registration process, which will be used to fulfill your request to attend an event (for example, processing payments). Communication: Engineering Students’ Society and event organizers may use the information you provide to communicate with you. This communication channel exists to share important information, such as cancellations or warnings about the events you are attending. Engineering Students’ Society and event organizers may also contact you about related events and other information. How is this information shared? Engineering Students’ Society may share your information with other parties in limited circumstances: Event Organizers: When you purchase a ticket or register as an attendee for an event, we will share your information and associated analytics with the organizer of that event. Vendors, Consultants, Service Providers: Engineering Students’ Society works with vendors, consultants and service providers to perform business-related functions. These engagements can include payment processing, risk management services, analytics services, marketing services, software consultation, and others. During these engagements, we may need to share information provided in order to perform business-related functions. Legal Requirements: Where required by law, Engineering Students’ Society may share certain information with law enforcement, courts, or government agencies. Engineering Students’ Society is not responsible for any personal information posted on this website in a non-confidential manner (i.e. not posted via a secure form), and such information is not subject to the policies above. Credit card information is not stored or shared on our site or servers but is processed through a viable third-party and access to this data cannot be controlled by the Engineering Students’ Society.
TERMS OF SERVICE
By using any of the Engineering Students’ Society services, including any services found on the website, you agree to voluntarily consent to any and all Terms of Service found herein. Engineering Students’ Society has the right to modify this Terms of Service agreement at our discretion, and the terms will become effective immediately upon publication to this website. Satisfaction Policies We provide the ticketing software used to process ticket sales and admissions for the events on this website. We are not responsible for the production, experience or cancellation of events on our system. If you are unsatisfied with your experience with an event listed on the Engineering Students’ Society system, you must speak to a valid representative of the event or venue. Accuracy of Information Users of any of Engineering Students’ Society services certify that any information provided to us is complete and accurate. Engineering Students’ Society will make every effort to validate the billing information you provide to us; however, if we are unable to do so, we reserve the right to cancel your tickets or prohibit you from using this website. Alteration of Event Listings Engineering Students’ Society reserves the right to expunge any event from the Engineering Students’ Society website at any time, under any circumstances, and for any reason. Refund Policies: Engineering Students’ Society is unable to offer refunds after a ticket or product has been purchased; however, a refund may be issued when an event is cancelled. If an event is cancelled, a refund in the amount of the face value of the ticket will be issued to customers who purchased tickets. Service, delivery and transaction fees will not be refunded. Refund availability and duration will be at the Engineering Students Society’s discretion. Postponed Events If an event is postponed to a later date, outdated tickets will still be accepted at the door for entrance into the event. Acceptable Methods of Payment Engineering Students’ Society currently accepts Visa or MasterCard cards for payment. All transactions will post an Engineering Students’ Society memo on your billing/bank statement. Privacy Policies Engineering Students’ Society respects your right to privacy. Privacy policies are outlined in the Engineering Students’ Society Privacy Policy. By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you are also agreeing to the terms set forth in the Engineering Students’ Society Privacy Policy. Refusal of Services Engineering Students’ Society reserves the right to bar any registered client from use of any or all of Engineering Students’ Society services at any time, under any circumstances, and for any reason. Violation of any of the guidelines below will always result in such punitive action. Violation of Terms If you violate any of the terms herein, Engineering Students’ Society reserves the right to terminate your account, bar you from using any Engineering Students’ Society services, cancel any ticket orders and take appropriate legal action. Acceptable Use Engineering Students’ Society grants you a non-exclusive right to access the Engineering Students’ Society Service for the purposes of browsing the site, searching for events, registering for events, and interacting with events, organizers, and Engineering Students’ Society. The following uses of the Service — including the site and all functions therein — are strictly forbidden: Using the Service in any way that violates the Terms of Service; Using the Service in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international laws and regulations; Attempting to reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise disclose the underlying source code or infrastructure of the Service; Using the Service for fraudulent activity or activity that facilitates fraud; Using or enabling others to use bots, scrapers, spiders, or any other automated means to access the Service for any purpose without the written permission of Engineering Students’ Society; Using or enabling others to use the Service in a way that imposes what Engineering Students’ Society deems to be an illicit, excessive, or unnecessarily heavy burden on our infrastructure, regardless whether such activity is an intentional attempt to interfere with the proper operation of the Site; Bypassing or enabling others to bypass any measures we take to restrict access to unauthorized areas of the Service.
